Could 'graphene' really trigger the next technological revolution?

The recent global 'patent race' for graphene technology suggests that there could be a technological revolution hiding just around the corner.

Although graphene is still really in the laboratory phase, this astonishing material, which is 10x stronger than steel, more conductive than copper and as flexible as rubber really does have extraordinary potential.

However, with the patent race in full swing, it looks like China, the USA and key enterprises companies like Samsung and IBM will likely be the winners and ultimately the gate-keepers to amazing new technologies.

Sadly, the UK who pioneered research into graphene have fallen way behind in the race with 'only' 54 patents.
